WH Academy’s Cybersecurity Fundamentals for Employees Certificate Course is a 2 to 4 hour online and self-paced course designed to give your employees the knowledge and practical skills needed to protect both their organization and themselves in a rapidly changing digital world of cyberattacks. Session 1: Course Overview
This session covers the Introduction and course outline.
Session 2: The State of Cybercrime
It’s important to understand the impact that cyberattacks can have on a business. Students will learn the history of cybercrime and its associated costs.
Session 3: Types of Cyberattacks
Now knowing about the huge number of cyberattacks and the huge costs involved for organizations targeted by these attacks, this session will cover the methods used.
Session 4: Role of Human Error
Learners will understand how employees contribute to the success of cyberattacks.
Session 5: What can a Company do?
Participants will learn about the defences organizations use to protect themselves and why employees need to be careful about what they post on social media.
Session 6: Best Practices for Remote or Travelling Employees
No business is totally protected from cyberattacks, but if employees are working from home or travelling, there are new vulnerabilities that need to be addressed. Students will understand how out-of-office workers can make sure they do not expose their organization to threats.
Session 7: Scenarios
Participants will review several situations and answers about how they can handle them.
Session 8: Cyberattacks on Individuals
Learners will explore various techniques that cybercriminals use to target employees, including spam, phishing, social engineering, malware, and social media.
Session 9: Recognizing Phishing Attacks
Students will learn the telltale signs that an email is malicious.
Session 10: What can a Person Do?
Understand what learners can do to support their company’s efforts to prevent an attack.
Session 11: Creating a Personal Cybersecurity Plan
Reflect on what students learned about cybersecurity and develop their own strategy for staying safe.
